Robert ?Bob? P. Erlacher, 80, formerly of Earl Ave. Mattydale, died Monday at Sunnyside Care Center. A native of Syracuse Mr. Erlacher was the son of the late Frank and Sara Erlacher, graduated from Central High School and then served in the US Navy aboard the USS Atlanta during WWII. He later resided in Houston, TX for 21 tears before moving to Mattydale in 1988 and has been at Sunnyside since 1998. Bob was a member of the Syracuse Police Department in the 1950?s, and sold pre-fab homes and modular homes in the 1960?s, then he owned and operated several restaurants in Houston including Bob?s Pub.
Bob was a member of the American Legion Post #1832 in Mattydale and was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in North Syracuse.
He was predeceased by his sister Anne Marie Menotti. He is survived by his wife of 49 years the former Jessie Throop, a brother?in-law Stuart T. Throop of North Syracuse, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Gene and Greta Piper of Cicero, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Clinton and Mary Ellen Throop of Mission Viejo, CA, several nieces nephews, great nieces, nephews and cousins including Claire Hoffman of Syracuse.
Services will be held 9:15 am Friday at the Krueger Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Rose of Lima Church. Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Thursday at the funeral home 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, Dewitt.
