Mary Rose Fagan, 97, longtime resident of North Syracuse, passed away on Sunday, September 8th at the Cottages at Garden Grove. She was born in Syracuse and lived in that area all of her younger life. North Syracuse became her home in 1945 where she was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church.
Mary retired from North Syracuse Central School District after over 24 years of service as a Secretary. Her family was her treasure. She was an avid reader and loved to crochet and do other needlework.
Mary Rose was predeceased by her beloved husband, Clarence, in 1989 after over 47 years of a wonderful marriage; her parents, John and Rose (Dems) Kushing; a niece; and three sisters, the most recent being Margaret Bertrand who passed away at 101 years of age.
She is survived by three children: Patricia Limber of Stonington, CT, Thomas of Liverpool, and Michael (Patrice) of Fairmount; her four grandchildren: Paige, Christopher, Matthew, and Michael II; and by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary Rose’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St., Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 10 am -12:30 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Funeral Services will follow at 12:30 pm. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Dewitt. The family invites friends to join them after the cemetery service at the Krueger Community Room.
