Stanley A. Ferris, 91, long time resident of Rebecca Street in North Syracuse, died peacefully in his sleep at The Crossings in Minoa on Thursday, September 21, 2017. Stanley was a native of Malone, NY and was the son of the late Stanley B. and Alice (Brown) Ferris.
He served as a radio man in the US Navy during World War II and Korea aboard the USS LST 1039. Stanley retired in 1997 after 43 years in the quality control division of General Electric in Liverpool. He was a member of the American Legion Post #787 in Cicero and #1832 in Mattydale. Stanley was a very active member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Mattydale before its closing.
He was predeceased by his wife of over 56 years, the former Laura Richie.
Surviving are their two sons: Stanley H. of Volney and Laurence "Al" (Robyn) of Cicero; five siblings: Anne Decoste of TN, Lorraine Groeser, John, David, and Charles Scheel all of CA; his five grandchildren: Laura Mary Ferris, William and Andrew Freeman, Stanley A. Ferris, and Melissa Murphy; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services are Tuesday, 10:00 am, at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale, with burial following in North Syracuse Cemetery.
