Mary Ann Fraser, 77, of Mattydale, passed away Wednesday, November 13, at home. Born in Lyons Falls, NY, Mary Ann was a graduate of Lyons Falls High School before receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Teaching from Oswego State. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Helen (Hughes) Burmingham.
Mary Ann retired in 2011 for about 30 years as the Assistant to Vice Chancellor Provost at Syracuse University. Prior to that, she worked at St. Margaret's School for many years. Mary Ann enjoyed playing Bunco with her friends. She was a longtime communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, on their Church Council, and as a member of its Altar Rosary Society.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 56 years, William C. Fraser; their three daughters: Lucinda Galtieri of Cicero, Latisha (Tom) Rourke of Fayetteville, and Linanne (Steven) Zehr of Cicero; her five grandchildren: Jason and Jennifer Galtieri, Conlan Rourke, and Joshua and Julia Zehr; and a great granddaughter, Brooklynn Galtieri.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary Ann’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 441 West Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 -7:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Prayer services will being on Saturday, 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret's Church.
