Danny R. Freeman, 69, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse. Danny was born in Dexter, NY, where he attended General Brown High School. He resided in Syracuse with his family for the past 34 years.
Danny was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He retired in 2009 after working for 33 years as a steel worker at Crucible Specialty Metals in Solvay. Danny was very mechanically inclined and enjoyed working on small engines, building model ships and cars.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, the former Denise (Rudd); their four children: Danielle (Erhan) Erdogan of RI, Erik Freeman of MA, Angel LaTray and Brian (Renee) Freeman, all of Syracuse; his mother Bessie Freeman of Dexter; three siblings: Constance Mason, Gale Freeman, and Dale Freeman, all of Dexter; and by his six grandchildren: Xavier, Jaden, Iziaha, Lillyana, Bella, and Mason.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, 9 am, at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt.
