Victoria N. “Vicky” Furgal, 84, formerly of Garden City Drive, Mattydale died Saturday at the Francis House.
A native of Syracuse and resided in Mattydale for 55 years before moving in 2003 to Greenpoint and then Rogers’ Apartments.
She retired in 1982 after 7 years in food preparation for American Airline at Syracuse International Airport and for 10 years prior to that at Roxboro Middle School in Mattydale. She was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church, a member of the Socialites senior group.
She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years Alexander Furgal in 1997, her daughter Kathleen Barry and her grandson Michael Barry. Surviving are a son Alexander Karen Furgal of Pennellville, a sister Alice Guinto of Syracuse three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Services will be held 9:30 am Wednesday at the Krueger Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Margaret’s Church. Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt. The family would like to thank the community of friends, caregivers and the health care providers that supported them throughout Vicky’s long illness.
