Gary J. Pudney, 72, lifelong resident of Mattydale until retiring to Florida in 2007, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 4, 2023. Gary was a 1968 graduate of North Syracuse High School and the son of the late Robert and Ethyle (Thomas) Pudney. He was a US Army Veteran serving from 1971- 1975 before his honorable discharge.
Gary retired in 2007 after working for more than 20 years as a truck driver with the Town of Salina Highway Department. Prior to that, he was the banquet manager for the Airport Inn for several years. Gary has been an active member of the Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department for 44 years with his highest rank achieved being a First Assistant Chief in 1986-1987. He was a past member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Post in Orlando. Gary was an aviation enthusiast who enjoyed helicopter rides, parasailing and camping.
He was predeceased by his wife of 31 years, the former Theresa (Burns) in 2001 and by his brother, Robert Pudney, Jr.
Gary is survived by his life partner with whom he was enjoying his Florida retirement, Linda Bezoski; a sister, Colleen (Betty Rhoades) Whitney of Canastota; his step-son, Scott (Brenda Saal) Jankowski of Orlando, FL; grandfather to Kristen, Kaitlyn, Zackary and great grandfather to Bella and Gracie; his nieces, Kristen and Kathy, and a sister-in-law, Carol Pudney.

Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Funeral Services are Friday, 11:00 am, at the funeral home with burial in North Syracuse Cemetery following.
