Paul Gay

Paul W. Gay, 73, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday, September 16th, at his home. Paul was born in Norwich, NY to the late Edgar Gay and Ruth (Griffin) Scarantino. He grew up in Lakeport, NY and was a 1963 graduate of Chittenango High School. Paul resided in the Lakeland area for the past 39 years.

He was a US Army veteran serving during Vietnam. Paul was employed at Allied Chemical in Solvay for17 years before their closing in 1986. He then worked as a carpenter for MCK Building Associates until he retired in 2010. Paul enjoyed fishing on Oneida Lake and Onondaga Lake and time spent with his family.

Paul is survived by his three children: John (Kelly) Gay of Syracuse, Tracy Myers of Lakeland, and Lynn Smith of Utica; two brothers: Jerry (Debbie) Gay and David Gay, both of Wilmington, NC; five grandchildren: Jephry, Amanda, Annie, Nate, and Gerold; his three great granddaughters: Gia, Gigi, and Avi; by several nieces and nephews and the mother of his children, Patricia Reap.

Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with a Funeral Service following at 7:00 pm.
