Harold “Butch” Gerhardt, 94, of Sunset Terrace in Cicero, died Sunday, July 9th at University Hospital. Butch was a life resident of the Cicero area and was the son of the late Conrad and Mabel Gerhardt.
He attended North Syracuse School and was a World War II Naval Veteran who served in the Pacific Theater aboard the USS Ranger. Butch was employed by General Super Plating in East Syracuse for 30 years as a buffer and polisher before retiring in 1981. He also worked as a private contractor for NY Telephone Company and was a member of the IUE (International Union of Electrical Workers) Local #319. Butch enjoyed camping with his family; one of his favorite places to camp was at Selkirk Shores.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Esther (Noyes) Gerhardt in 1989.
Surviving are his two daughters: Sandra (Ronald) Poplawski of Cicero and Sharon Gerhardt of Bridgeport; his two granddaughters: Jennifer Petranchuk of North Syracuse and Heather Poplawski of Brewerton; and his three great grandchildren: Morgan, Brady, & Carter.

Friends may call on Thursday from 4 - 7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Friday, 10:00 am, followed by burial in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.
