Francis "Doc" Good, 82, of Liverpool, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at James Square Nursing Home. Born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, Doc graduated in 1954 and went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University.
He worked for General Electric in their Heavy Military Division with Radar Technology and in the Medical Systems, helping develop the MRI. Doc's career took him all over the world including: Colorado, California, and Shemya, Alaska as well as overseas where he held a "Q" clearance working with the US Government Department of Defense on remote sites in Alaska, Greenland and Turkey. Upon his retirement in 1980, Doc settled in the Syracuse area, buying a dairy farm in West Monroe. He worked the farm with his family for 10 years before returning to Lockheed Martin where he worked until 1997. He then bought the Little Gem Diner in Syracuse which he owned and operated for an additional 14 years. Doc earned the Restaurateur of the Year award in 2001 and was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Kansas and of the CNY Restaurant Association. Doc was also a US Army veteran as well as a communicant of Sacred Heart of the Basilica Church in Syracuse.
He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Fridolin and Mary (Freiss) Good, his siblings: Sister Mary Dorene BVM, Bernice Stavniak, Edna Good, Alice Kasselman, Dr. Frederick Good, and Laurence Good; his son, Mark Good; and by his fiancée, Irena "Kitty" Fleischer.
Doc is survived by two children: Christopher M. (Bentlee) Good of Jackson, TN and Laura Good of Syracuse and their mother, Sherry Good of North Syracuse; a granddaughter, Journee; Kitty's sons: Joseph and David Fleischer; a sister-in-law, Ella Mae Good of Kansas; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home Inc., 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, NY. Funeral Services and Burial will be in Kansas.
