Susan V. "Suzie" Greenwood

Susan V. Greenwood, 64, lifelong resident of Mattydale, died Sunday at home. Susan was a 1968 graduate of North Syracuse High School and was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Jane (Flighty) Greenwood.

Suzie worked as a waitress and cook at various restaurants in the Syracuse area and loved taking care of children. She was an avid Yankees and Patriots fan; a huge bond she shared with her son.

Susan is survived by her two children: Richard Gillings of Mattydale, with whom she resided, and Michele Tortora of Brewerton; a brother: David Greenwood of Mattydale; a granddaughter; and a few nieces. She will be greatly missed by family and friends and will never be forgotten, as she was a gentle, kind soul.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with an informal remembrance service following at 7 pm.
