Alma I. (Sanderson) Halstead, 99, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday, April 22 at Loretto Nursing Home. A native of Glen Park, NY, Alma resided in Pennellville for 20 years before moving to New Port Richey, FL and finally back to Syracuse in 2001. She was the last surviving child of eight children born to the late Sylvester and Hazel (Kentfield) Sanderson.
Alma retired in 1984 after 16 years as a candle maker for Muench-Kreuzer Candle Co. in Syracuse. Prior to that, she worked for Syracuse China Company.
She was predeceased by her husband of 32 years, David Halstead, in 2001.
Alma is survived by a daughter: Georgia Richardson of Syracuse; her two grandsons, William (Mary) Richardson and Keith (Kimberly) Richardson; two great grandchildren, Bryan Richardson and Kaleigh Andino; and two great great grandsons, Logan and Thomas.
At Alma's request, all services have been held privately.
