Kevin A. Hathaway, Sr.

Kevin A. Hathaway, Sr., 59, of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021. Kevin was born and raised in Syracuse, but resided in Norfolk, Virginia the last 12 years of his life. He was an avid sports fan that enjoyed NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys, the L.A. Lakers, and the Syracuse Orangemen. Kevin loved cooking and spending time with family and friends on the beach, if possible. In life, he was the proudest of his 7 children and 15 grandchildren, as family meant everything to him, and he also shared 32 years with Lori, who was the love of his life.

Kevin was predeceased by his father, John Hathaway, Sr., his 2 brothers, John “Derryl” Hathaway, Jr. and Melvin Hathaway, and also his favorite cousin, Elliot Hathaway.

Kevin is survived by his 7 children: Shawnda Hathaway of Syracuse, NY, Tashika Gomez of Liverpool, NY, Quinica Hathaway of Princeton, TX, Laticia Hathaway of Melissa, TX, Danyette Hathaway of Dallas, TX, Jasmine Hathaway of Norfolk, VA, and Kevin Hathaway Jr. of Norfolk, VA; his 15 grandchildren; the love of his life, Lori Aldrich of Norfolk, VA; his mother, Helen Hathaway of Liverpool, NY; his 3 sisters: Dena Jones of Chesapeake, VA, Marilyn “Monnie” Bennett of Syracuse, NY, and Deborah ”Cuppy” Bullock of Liverpool, NY; and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Private services will be held for family on Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 11:00 am until 1:30 pm at Krueger Funeral Home located at 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale, NY. A memorial gathering will be held for family and friends on Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Comfort Tyler Park, more commonly referred to as Comstock Park, located at 1100 Comstock Avenue, Syracuse, NY.
