Charles Hayes

Charles C. Hayes, 69, of Beley Ave in Mattydale died Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Charlie was a life long resident of Mattydale and was the son of the late Timothy J. Hayes and Florence L. Chubb.
Charlie was a graduate of North Syracuse High School Class of 1957. He served in the US Navy during the 1950's. He owned and operated C. Hayes Construction and specialized in roofing and siding for over 40 years. Charlie was a past chief and life member of the Mattydale Volunteer Fire Dept serving more than 45 years.
He was predeceased by his sister, Florence Willis. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Arlene Krupa; his three daughters, Vicky Deborah Duello Hayes of Syracuse, Margaret "Meg" Hayes of Mattydale, Patty Chuck Cerio of Baldwinsville; his son, Tim Karen Hayes of Apex, NC; his sister, Barbara Shonyo of Liverpool; his brother, Timothy Richard Brenda Hayes of Endicott and brother-in-law, Ray Willis Sr. of Canastota; his six grandchildren, Alex, Elizabeth, Jonathon, Holly, Katy, and Jack; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Wayne & Kathy Leslie, Marianne & John Ricker, Joe & Peggy Ponichtera; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4-6:30pm Friday at the Mattydale Fire Department, 173 East Molloy Road, Mattydale. Services will begin at 6:30pm followed by a reception to celebrate Charlie's life.
