Rose Hayes

Rose M. Hayes, 86, of Mattydale, was taken home by her lord to her husband and family on Friday.
She was born in Rose Marie DeCicco on November 7, 1922 to the late Louis and Louisa DeCicco in Syracuse. She resided in Mattydale for many years.
Rose was employed at Easy Washer, Nettle Shoe Factory and Sears & Roebuck in Syracuse, Penn Can Mall and Great Northern Mall until she retired in 1986. She was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale and was an avid bingo player.
Rose was predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years Chester Hayes in April of 2008 and her siblings Carol, Mary and Dominick. She is survived by a son: James Sheila Hayes of Mattydale, a sister Josephine Detjen of North Syracuse, four granddaughters, Mary Howard Benway of Constantia, Kimberly Mike Borregine and Kathy Serge Silva both of Cicero, Deborah Chris Simon of Casper, WY; seven great grandchildren, Matt Kathy Cheney, Steve Borregine, Ashley Silva, Ana, Maria, Ella Borregine and Melissa Chaney; a great great grandson, Donovan Chaney. She will be sadly missed by her family.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 pm Tuesday at the Krueger Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 5 pm. Burial will be in Lord's Cemetery in Elizabethtown. Contributions may be made to Vera House 6181 Thompson Rd. East Syracuse, NY 13057.
