Joshua “Joshie” A. Heffernan, 27, of North Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 19th after injuries sustained in a car accident. Josh was born in Syracuse and grew up in the Mattydale and North Syracuse areas. He was a 2012 graduate of CNS High School and was involved with The Canteen.
Josh worked as a sales associate for WalMart in Cicero and East Syracuse for the past 5 years. His boys and video games were his life. Josh was very involved in the gaming community and was a content creator of KaosMyth on Twitch. He collected Funko Pops and enjoyed anime. Josh spiritually followed the Buddhist faith and their traditions.
He is survived by his parents, Dulcey Muraski of Mattydale and John Muraski of West Monroe; two children, Ezra Skelly and Elliott Heffernan, both at home; a sister, Ashley (Toby Zukowski) Heffernan of North Syracuse and brother, Brandon Tyler of North Carolina; his fiancée, Hannah Mcgrath and her daughter, Chloe; ; his uncles, Scott Heffernan Sr. of Mattydale, Robert Muraski, and Rodger Heffernan both of Syracuse; an aunt Amie Muraski of West Virginia; a niece and a nephew, Asmodeus & Freyja Heffernan.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Josh’s memory may be made to Dulcey Muraski, c/o Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, NY 13211, to establish a trust fund to benefit his children.
Friends may call Sunday from 1:00 -4:00 PM at Krueger Funeral Home with a Funeral Service following at 4:00 pm. Burial at a later date will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Pompey.
