Bernard "Barney" H. Heinley, 91, of Mattydale, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015, at The Jewish Home at Menorah Park. Barney grew up in Macedon, NY, and resided in Mattydale for the past 60 years.
He was a US Army veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theatre. Barney retired in 1988 after many years as a machinist and a welder at General Press Metal in Syracuse. Prior to that, he worked for Carrier Corporation and Lennox Furnace Company. Barney enjoyed his radio controlled model airplanes and loved his beagle, Hey You. He looked forward to working in his garage and riding in his 1930 Model A Ford. Barney was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church.
He is survived by his wife, the former Suzette Ballou, whom he was happily married to for 65 years; their son: Dan B. Heinley and his wife, Amy; his two grandchildren, Alexandra and Daniel J. Heinley; and two nieces, Lisa and Susan.
