Marion E. Henson, 102, of Mattydale, died Friday at home. Marion was a native of North Bay, NY and resided on Brookfield Road for 74 years. She was the daughter of the late Benison and Margaret E. Lozier Armstrong.
Marion retired in 1970 after 14 years as a clerk at the Columbus Circle Branch of the Onondaga County Public Library. She was a life member of the Mattydale Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary since 1947, was extremely active with the Girl Scouts and served as a Troop Leader in Mattydale for many years.
Marion was predeceased by her husband, Herbert M. Henson, in 1988 and by her brother, Chester Armstrong.
Surviving are her two daughters: Dorothy A. Jack Murphy of Wesley, AR and Mary L. John Laris of Mattydale; a son: Charles M. Helen Henson of Syracuse; sixteen grandchildren; thirty six great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
Marion will always be remembered for the loving support she showed to her family and friends. Calling Hours will be held at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale, on Wednesday from 4-7 pm. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Thursday, 10 am, with burial in Maple Flats Cemetery, Cleveland, following the service.
