Dutch Robert F. Holland, 85, of Sandra Drive, Pitcher Hill North Syracuse, died Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital. A native of Utica Mr. Holland resided in Pitcher Hill for the past 55 years and also maintained a summer residence near Alexandria Bay, New York for 20 years.
He was the son of the late Thomas and Catherine Holland and was a 1940 graduate of St. Francis High School in Utica and attended Syracuse University. He was a naval veteran of WWII and served aboard the SS Baker in the Atlantic.
Dutch retired in 1988 after more than 30 years as an Office Manager/Controller with the M. Lichtman & Co. Inc. in Liverpool. He was a long time communicant of St. Margaret's church and was an avid boater.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Elaine Stiles, a daughter Mary Mark Greenseich of Cicero, two sons Robert T. Holland of North Syracuse, Michael J. Lorraine Holland of Hollywood, FL, a Sister Helen Lyons of Louisville, KY and seven grandchildren Kevin, Erica, Kelsey, Maura, Mallory, Connor and Colin.
Friends may call from 4-7 pm on Monday at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale, NY 13211. Services will be Tuesday at 9:30 am at the funeral home and 10 am at St. Margaret's church. Burial will be in Onondaga Co Veteran's Cemetery.
