Michael W. Houde, Sr., 71, of Pottstown, PA, died Sunday, February 1, 2015, at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Michael was born and raised on the North side of Syracuse before moving to Old Bridge, NJ, in 1986 where he resided for 7 years and then settling in Pottstown, PA in 1993. He was the son of the late Robert and Mabel (Cummings) Brandt.
Michael was a US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War and then in the Reserves. He re-enlisted in 1986 before retiring at the rank of Sergeant First Class after 9 years in 1995. Michael worked as a carpenter in the Syracuse and PA areas before retiring. He loved fishing and was a communicant of St. Aloysius Church.
In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by his brother, Edward Houde and a sister, Peg Gosselin.
Michael is survived by his wife of 44 years, the former Toni (Pendock); three children: Marlene Kern of Naples, FL, Michael (Jennifer) Houde Jr. of Iselin, NJ and Charles (Jessica) Houde of Lancaster, PA; his siblings: Francis Houde of CA, Sue DeCarlo, Mary Ellsworth, Bobbie Ellsworth, and Joseph Brandt, all of Syracuse; six grandchildren: Sarah Miller, Dylan Haugh, Vanessa, Alyssa, Mya and Olivia Houde; a great granddaughter, Hayley Miller; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Prayer Services will begin at the funeral home on Friday, 9:15 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Margaret's Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum, Syracuse.
