Alix Brunet Howatt, 92, formerly of Main Street., North Syracuse died on Sunday, February 4 at Millard Fillmore Gates Hospital in Buffalo. She grew up in Alberta, Canada and in Syracuse and was the daughter of the late Cleophas and Ida Brunet and resided in St, Petersburg Fl for 27 years before moving to North Syracuse in 1992. Since, 1999, she lived in Williamsville, NY with her daughter.
Alix was a graduate of Powelsons Business Institute and retired in 1970 after 10 years at Medsi in St. Petersburg, Florida as a Data Processing Librarian. Prior to that, she worked at Crucible Steel in Solvay. She was a member of the Association of Retarded Children, where she cleaned and repaired donated jewelry for resale. She was an avid genealogist who delighted in sharing her knowledge with anyone who sought it.
She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, John, in 1987 as well as her brothers John Brunet, Lucien Brunet, Albert Julien Brunet and Joseph Roland Brunet. Surviving are her two children J. Robblee ?Bob? Howatt, of Bedford, MA and Noëla Howatt, of Williamsville, three sisters Cecile Dumas, of Eastwood, Juliette Young, of Mattydale, Noëla Brunet Putman, of North Syracuse, and one brother, Raymond Brunet, of Eastwood.
Memorial services will be 11:30 am Saturday June 9th in St. Margaret?s Church in Mattydale. Krueger Funeral Home in Mattydale was entrusted with the arrangements. Contributions may be made to the United Way of CNY, PO Box 2129, Syracuse, NY 13220.
