Nicolina "Nikki" Hughes, 90, of North Syracuse, passed away on Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Nikki was born and raised on the North side of Syracuse and resided in North Syracuse for over 50 years. She was the daughter of the late James and Carmella Massaro.
Nikki retired in 1986 after 20 years as a supervisor for Marine Midland Bank. She then went on to work at Wendy's Restaurant as a cashier for 20 years until last year. Nikki enjoyed shopping, reading, traveling and taking cruises both domestic and throughout Europe.
She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Warren H. Hughes, in 1993.
Nikki is survived by her two sons: Richard H. Hughes of North Syracuse and David (Jenell) Hughes of Edgewater, FL; one sister: Louise Patapow of Solvay; a brother: Leonard Massaro of North Syracuse; seven grandchildren: Jeffrey, Shawn, Tammy, Brian, Angela, Brett and Kevin; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Graveside services are Thursday, 11 am at Assumption Cemetery, 2401 Court St., Syracuse, NY.
