Rita "Gail" Hunt Farino, 81, of Deerfield Beach, Florida, died Monday, August 6, 2018. Born in Burlington, Vermont, Gail moved to Syracuse as a child. She was a graduate of Onondaga Valley Academy Class of 1955. She resided locally in the Syracuse and Mattydale areas until relocating to Florida in 1992.
Gail was a member of the Century Village Women's Music Group where she planned musical shows for the community. She also volunteered at local hospitals bringing cheer to the patients. Gail was an avid slot machine player and enjoyed anything Halloween related, which also happened to be her birthday.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert C. "Butch" Hunt in 1972, by her sisters, Sharon MacMillan in 2008 and Patricia Aitkin in 2011, and by her two step-sons, Frank Farino in 2017 and John Farino in 2018.
Gail is survived by her husband of 26 years, Joseph Farino of Deerfield Beach, FL; two daughters: Kathy Wood of Mattydale and Violet Michele (Steve) Norris of Houston, TX; a step-daughter, Kathy Giordano of Fort White, FL; step daughter-in-law, Bobbye Farino of North Miami Beach, FL; her ten siblings: Virginia Smith of Baldwinsville, Kirk (Carole) MacMillan of North Syracuse, Brian (Yvonne) MacMillan of Antigua, West Indies, Nola (Ted) Risney of Gretna, NE, Michael (Joy) Mosher of Bradenton, FL, Bruce MacMillan of Rochester, Robert MacMillan of Chesterton, IN, Nancy Milroy, Neil (Margie) MacMillan of North Syracuse and Judy (Steve) MacMillan of Rochester; her lifelong friend, Marilyn Tuer of Jamesville; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Saturday, September 8th, from 2 - 4 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. A brief Funeral Service will conclude the visitation.
