Colonel John K. Ianuzzi, 69 of North Syracuse, died at the Jewish Home on Wednesday. He was born in Syracuse, NY and was the son of the late John and Laura Ianuzzi. He graduated from CBA in Albany and attended Syracuse University. He was a communicant of St. Margaret?s Church where he served as an usher for many years. John retired in 1993 after 35 years in the military.
Col. Ianuzzi was past commander of the 108th Tactical Control Flight and became the commander of the 152nd Group at Hancock Field. Col Ianuzzi was instrumental in moving the Group Headquarters from Roslyn LI to Hancock Field.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cynthia Tarbell, two daughters Terri Wayne Wall of Solvay and Karen William Michalson of MA, a brother, Robert of Fla., two granddaughters Rachel & Jacqueline Wall, along with several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm on Friday at the Krueger Funeral Home 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am Saturday in St. Margaret?s Church.
