Mary Catherine (O'Hern) Indick, 77, of West Molloy Road in Mattydale, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016, seven years to the day of her late husband surrounded by her loving family. Mary was raised on the North side of Syracuse where she graduated from St. John the Baptist in 1957. She was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Brown) O'Hern.
Mary retired in 2013 after 12 years as a cashier for St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse. She thoroughly enjoyed her many visits to the Turning Stone Casino and was best known as the family rock. Mary loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and was especially fond of their Sunday family dinners "linners." She was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale.
Mary was predeceased by her husband of 50 years and love of her life, Robert L. "Bob" Indick, on October 3, 2009 and by her sister, Betty Silvia.
She is survived by three children and their spouses: Denise and John Friebely of Scotch Plains, NJ, Bob and Amy Indick of Central Square, and Michael and Eliza Indick of Cicero; her beloved dog, Buddy; a sister, Patricia Kolodzie of Mattydale; and one brother, William O'Hern of SC. She also leaves behind her eight grandchildren: Michael, Jennifer, Bobby, Angelo, Brian, Jack, Jessica, and Lily; four great grandchildren: Max, Mason, Reid, and Niko; four step-grandchildren: Charlene, Tammy, Erica, and Jason; and several nieces and nephews especially her loving Niece, caretaker and partner in crime, Joanne Niemann.

Box 1000, Dept 1142, Memphis, TN 38148 or to the Mattydale Volunteer Fire Dept., 173 East Molloy Rd., Mattydale, NY 13211. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph's D-3 ICU for their care of Mary.
Friends may call on Thursday from 3 - 7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Prayer Services will begin on Friday at 9:30 am at the funeral home with a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial following at St. Margaret's Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
