Jacqueline E. Pierce

Jacqueline “Jackie” Pierce, 85, of Mattydale, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025, following a brief illness. Born in Cornwall, Ontario, Jackie was the daughter of the late Augustin and Marion (Tessier) Laroche. She was a 1957 graduate of Barton Academy in Barton, Vermont. While in Vermont, Jackie met her future husband at her family’s restaurant when Ed came in to order a PBJ sandwich. They resided in Mattydale since 1962.

 Jackie retired in 2004 as a baker from P & C Foods in North Syracuse. Prior to that, she worked at Tops Supermarket in Mattydale. Jackie volunteered for many years at North Area Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Jackie was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church in Mattydale.

 She was predeceased by her daughter, Carol Soukakos, in 2002 and her husband of 60 years, Edward “Ed” Pierce in 2021.

Jackie is survived by her three children: Royal (Michell) Pierce of North Syracuse, Monica (Robert) Conners of Clay, and Robert (Nicole) Pierce of Clay; grandmother to Shane, Stephanie, Brittany, Sean, Alexander, Cameron, and Devin; and great grandmother to Grant, Kennedy, and Chloe.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jackie's memory may be made to North Area Meals on Wheels, 413 Church Street, North Syracuse, NY 13212. 

Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 -7:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Prayer Services will begin on Saturday, 9:30 am, at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret’s Church.
