Sadie Jammen, 87, longtime resident of Maple Manor Drive in North Syracuse, died Thursday at Loretto Cunningham. Sadie was born and raised in Fall River, Massachusetts, before living in North Syracuse; she also resided at Malta House for 8 years prior to moving to Loretto. She was the daughter of the late Gabriel and Mary Elhilow.
Sadie was a volunteer for NAVAC during the 1970's and 1980's. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, playing bingo and card games.
Sadie was predeceased by her husband, Edward Jammen, in 1992, her grandson, David Buckley, in 2010, and by a brother Massoud Elhilow.
Surviving are her three children: Barbara Bridenbaker of North Syracuse, Ralph Sandy Jammen of Fulton, and Mae Buckley of North Syracuse; a sister: Libbey Daignault of Somerset, MA her brother: Anthony Elhilow of Fall River, MA; five grandchildren, Hope and Brian Messer, Michael Bridenbaker, Erin Denis, and Margie Altier; as well as her six great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins..
The family extends special thanks to the fourth floor staff at Loretto Cunningham for their loving care of Sadie. Contributions may be made to the family in care of Krueger Funeral Home.
Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale. A Funeral service will begin on Tuesday, 10 am at the funeral home followed by burial in North Syracuse Cemetery.
