Jean M. Yerdon, 88, of Collingwood Ave. North in Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, October 15th, 2024. Born to the late Gerald and Florence (Hooge) Cooper, Jean was raised on the North Side of Syracuse and was a 1954 graduate of North High School. She wintered in New Port Richey, Florida, for 20 years and maintained a camp at Brennan’s Beach during the summers for 20 years until 2020.
Jean raised her family for over 26 years and also provided day care for many other children for over 20 years in her home. Previously, she was a teller at the former Onondaga Savings Bank in downtown Syracuse for 10 years. Jean enjoyed camping with her family mostly in the Adirondacks and seasonally on Lake Ontario. She was a communicant of St. Daniel’s Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and on the Parish Council.
Jean was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, George Yerdon in 2021, by a son, Kevin Yerdon in 2015, and by two brothers, Richard and Jack Cooper.
Surviving are five children: Daryl (Carl Doremus) Yerdon of Milford, NH, Brian (Susan) Yerdon of Syracuse, Lori (Ron) Bosket of Syracuse, Kim (Dave) Mineker of Concord, NC, and Chris (Erin Perri) Yerdon of Camillus; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. A Funeral Service will begin on Monday, 10:00 am, at St. Daniel’s Church.
