JoAnn “Brandy” Perkins, 73, of Kirkville, passed away Saturday, January 14th, 2023, at Crouse Hospital. Joann was a native of Syracuse and grew up on the North and South sides of the city. She was born to the late Peter and Marion (DeVaul) Barnello and attended Roosevelt High School in Syracuse with the class of 1968.
JoAnn worked as the manager of the Sunoco Express on Erie Boulevard for several years before moving with her husband to Camp Pendleton where he was stationed in the US Marine Corps in 1979. They returned to Syracuse in 1981. She enjoyed camping and fishing in the Adirondacks with her family.
JoAnn was predeceased by her siblings: Cheryl Pullen, and John and Michael Barnello and by her grandson, Chad Hawk in December.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, John Perkins Sr.; four children: Joseph (Lisa) Perkins of Kirkville, Kim Beals of Watertown, Jason Perkins of Kirkville, and John (Cheree) Perkins II of Mattydale; her three brothers, Peter (Mary), Ronald, and Joseph Barnello; grandmother to nine: Shannon, Joseph, Stephanie, Brooke Lyn, John III, Lucian, Jacob, Trevor and Caleb; and five great grandchildren: Joseph, Wyatt, Hunter, Mason, and Jensen.
