Gene "Poncho" Jock, 54, of County Rte. 65, Bernhards Bay, passed away Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Gene was a native of the North side of Syracuse and resided there before moving to Bernhards Bay in 1995.
He worked as a glass installer for 22 years for various glass Companies in the Syracuse area including Syracuse Glass Co. until 2004. Since then he has been self employed as a general maintenance contractor. He loved camping, fishing and other outdoor activities.
He was predeceased by his parents Francis and Irene Jock. Surviving are his wife of 17 years the former Shirley Waleski, a daughter Alisa Dan Redino of Kirkville, three sons Eugene Emily Jock Jr. of Tyler TX, Jason Jock of Ordway CO, Aaron Jock of Chittenango, two sisters Marie Jacob of Elbridge, Marilyn LaPradd of Massena, two brothers Francis Jock of Ashboro, NC, George Jock of Phoenix AZ, two granddaughters Kira Mercedes Jock, Brittany Whitehouse, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and Cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Tuesday at St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Monday at the Krueger funeral Home 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale, NY 13211. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family c/o Diane Rookey 8103 Portabello Way, Liverpool, NY 13090.
