Eleanor J. Johnson, 90, resident of North Syracuse since 1957, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. Eleanor was a native of the West side of Syracuse and was the daughter of the late William and Helen (Shank) Martin.
She was predeceased by three sons: Morris (Tige), Gary and Michael Johnson and by her sisters: Helen Nolan and Janet Gonyou.
Eleanor is survived by four children: Cathy (Gerald) LaFleur of Windsor, CT, John M. Johnson, David L. Johnson, Jeffrey L. Johnson-Wandersee, all of North Syracuse; her three grandsons: Dan, Joe, and Rob; daughter-in-laws: Rosa Agnoli of Clay and Mary McManus of Syracuse; her best friend and caretaker, Tonya Logan of Syracuse; and by several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom held special places in her heart.
She loved going to picnics at Oneida Shores, spending weekends at the Broadway enjoying her friends and good country music, and eating her potato chips and dip! Ellie was a kind and caring person who was devoted to her family and friends. She brightened many lives and will be sorely missed.
Memorial Services will be held privately at a later date.
