Joan Johnston

Joan M. Johnston, 86, of Orangeport Road, Brewerton died Sunday at James Square Nursing Home. Joan was a native of Colchester, England and had resided in Cato for 30 years before moving to Brewerton in 1985 to live with her daughter and son-in-law.
Joan retired in 1985 after many years as a cook for the Cato Central School District. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Cato and a former member of the Cato Union Church and its Women's Group. More recently, Joan attended St. Agnes Church in Brewerton and Sacred Heart Church in Cicero.
Surviving are her daughter: Denise Rick Martell of Brewerton; her son: Glenn Cindy Johnston of Skaneateles; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8pm at Krueger Funeral Home Inc., 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, NY. A funeral service will follow at 8pm. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, 9:00am at Constantia Rural Cemetery, Constantia. Contributions may be made to James Square Employee Fund, 918 James Street, Syracuse NY 13203.
