Barbara Kaczmarek

Barbara Kaczmarek, 61, of Phoenix, passed away Monday, July 5th, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Barb grew up in Mattydale and resided in the Syracuse area for most of her life. She was a 1978 graduate of North Syracuse High School.

Barbara was currently employed at Oswego County Opportunities in Fulton since 2017. Previously she worked in the Syracuse area for several businesses including Morris Protective Services and BJ’s in Clay. Barb was known to her friends and family as “the crazy cat lady” and was a huge Jeopardy fan.

Barb was predeceased by her parents, Nicholas and Rosemary Kaczmarek and recently by her birth mother, Patricia Ann Drew-Blair.

She is survived by her two children: Thomas Merriett with whom she resided and Melissa Stobart-Merriett and son-in-law, Tom Stobart, both of West Virginia; and a grandson, Nicholas Merriett of Phoenix.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with a Funeral Service following at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery.
