Rose M. Kolodziej, 96, long time resident of Mattydale, passed away Monday, September 7th at Malta House. Rose grew up in Sherburne, NY, and resided in Mattydale for over 60 years at 112 South Plymouth Ave and Earl Ave before moving to Malta House in 2011. She was a 1941 graduate of Sherburne High School and was the daughter of the late Andrew G. and Theresa A. (Rebic) Sepello.
Rose worked for 10 years as a self-employed Home Health Aid before retiring. Previously she worked at A&P Grocery Store in Syracuse for 10 years. Rose was a member of the Salina Civic Seniors and the North Syracuse Seniors with whom she traveled often. She was also active in their dance group and band. Rose enjoyed various crafting activities and was a member of Take Off Pounds Sensibly. She was a longtime communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale and a member of their Mother's Club and Altar Rosary Society.
She was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Louis T. Kolodziej, in 1984 and by two brothers, Richard and John Sepello.
Rose is survived by a daughter: Hope Ann Carter of Kenai, Alaska; her sister: Margaret Foster of Georgetown, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

Prayer Services will begin on Saturday, 9:30 am at Krueger Funeral Home, Mattydale, with a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret's Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse. Face coverings will be required, and CDC & NYS Dept. of Health guidelines will be enforced. Funeral Services will be live streamed on our website beneath her obituary and also on FaceBook.
