Helen J. Kozlowski, 95, formerly of North Syracuse, passed away Saturday, September 7 in Anaheim, California. Born in Lackawanna, NY, Helen resided on Edgemere Road in Mattydale for 67 years prior to moving to North Syracuse in 1995. She moved to California in 2015 to live near her family. She was the daughter of the late John Stetes and the late Mary Wengen.
Helen retired in 1998 after 27 years as a blue print operator at Rockwell International in Syracuse. Helen was a member of the D.A.V. Ladies Auxiliary Chapter 30 in Syracuse, a communicant of St. Margaret's Church and a member of its Altar Rosary Society.
Helen is predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Chester "Chet" Kozlowski and by her sister, Alice Stetes, both in 2013, and a brother, Albert Stetes in 1986.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Dr. Michael Black of Irvine, CA; two grandchildren, Laura Black Williams of Tustin, CA and Benjamin Black of Irvine, CA; and two great grandchildren: Luke and Levi Williams of Tustin, CA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen's memory may be made to either St. Margaret's Church, 203 Roxboro Rd., Mattydale, NY 13211 or to NAVAC, PO Box 215, N. Syracuse, NY 13212.
Calling Hours will be held on Monday, September 16th from 9:00 -10:30 am at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with a 10:30 am Prayer Service following. An 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Margaret's Church and burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse. The family invites friends to a reception at Nestico’s in North Syracuse at 1:00 pm following the burial.
