Barry J. La Rochelle, 55, of Plymouth Ave. South in Mattydale, died Sunday at the VA Medical Center. Born in Syracuse, Barry grew up in the North Syracuse and Cicero area. He was a 1977 graduate of Cicero High and the son of the late James R. and Lorraine (Dupra) La Rochelle.
Barry received an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Bryant & Stratton and served as an MP in the US Air Force from 1978-1982. He plowed snow for many residences and businesses in the area. Barry loved boating, snowmobiling, and was an avid NASCAR and Red Skins fan. Barry raced in the Dirt Circuit for several years, enjoyed coin collecting and was formerly in several bowling leagues in the area. He was a perfectionist with maintaining his lawn and garden and was an train enthusiast.
Surviving are his wife of 24 years, the former Kim (Adams); two brothers: Timothy (Kim) La Rochelle of Cicero and Robert (Elaine) La Rochelle of Somerset, NJ; a brother-in-law, Ron (Lisa) Adams of Camillus; three sisters-in-law: Janet Podszebka of Fort Worth, TX, Pam Schnobrich of Mattydale and Diane Camken-Adams of Camillus; and several nieces and nephews: Christine, Allison, Shawn, Mark, Jamie, Joshua, Brooke, Steven, and Kiel.
