Ronald E. Lapham, 90, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Saturday, July 9th at home with his companion by his side. Ronald was born and raised in Syracuse and was the son of the late Edward J. and Genevieve (Gronau) Lapham. He was a 1950 graduate of North Syracuse High School and resided most of his life on Church Street in North Syracuse before moving to the Cicero area. Ron wintered in Florida for years and finally settling in Sebring in 2014.
Ron was a US Air Force Veteran. He retired in 1994 after 22 years as a salesman for Bowman Distribution and previously worked for Syracuse Auto Parts for 14 years. Ron was a former Scoutmaster for Troop 67, volunteered for North Area Meals on Wheels and St. Joseph’s North Medical Center, was an AARP Safe Driving Instructor and a member of the VIPS (Volunteers in Police Service) at Cicero Police Department. He was a member of NCHA and FMCA. He was a charter member of Luther Memorial Church in North Syracuse. Ron traveled and camped in his motor home. He and his late wife enjoyed round and square dancing.
Ronald was predeceased by his wife of 57-1/2 years, the former Patricia (Lynn).
Ronald is survived by his two children, Terry (Anette) Lapham of Clay and Cindy (David) Sabey of Cicero; his companion, Mary Livingston with whom he resided; two sisters: Sharon (Richard) Coldren of Liverpool and Joyce (Bruce) Rice of Pulaski; five grandchildren: Nicole Lapham, Christopher Schmunk, Josh Sabey, Shannon Garcia and Sean Carpenter; six great grandchildren: Dia, Mia, Gwen, Eli, Vivian and Violet; and by several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 -7:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, 11:00 am, at Luther Memorial Church, 435 S. Main St., North Syracuse and it will be live streamed on the funeral home Facebook page for those unable to attend. Burial will follow in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.
