Charles H. "Chuck" LaVeck, 62, of Baldwinsville, died Thursday, February 7th, 2019 at his home. Chuck was born and raised in Hannibal to Katherine (VanCour) and the late Harold LaVeck. He graduated from Hannibal High School in 1975 and attended Bryant & Stratton.
Chuck served in the U.S. Army and while stationed in Korea he received a special life saving accommodation. He also served as an MP and guarded John Hinkley, Jr. while he was in custody following the Reagan assassination attempt. Chuck worked as a Driver and Manager for Fed Ex Ground in Syracuse for the past 18 years. Previously, he worked as a Transportation Manager for 8 years at Flcikinger’s. Chuck was a former member of the Baldwinsville Volunteer Fire Dept. and enjoyed playing video games, especially World of Warcraft.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his step-father, Leland Rogers and an infant sister, Megan.
Charles is survived by his wife of 28 years, the former Elizabeth Sease of Baldwinsville; two children, Allison (Kevin) LaVeck-Francisco of Mattydale and Christopher (Jennifer) LaVeck of Vernon; a step-son, Edward Steves of New Haven; his mother, Katherine Rogers of Maryland; four siblings: Donna (John) Rushak of Groton, Jan(Jim) Ryan of Fayetteville, Midge Johnson of Florida and Arthur (Jill) LaVeck of Maryland; his five grandchildren: Joseph, Matthew, Kaylyn, Beckham and Brayden; and by several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Monday from 4:00 -7:00 PM at Krueger Funeral Home, Mattydale. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 pm and be concluded with a Military Honor Guard.
