Linda M. Smith

Linda M. Smith, 72, of Mattydale, passed away peacefully, with family by her side, at Francis House on December 16, 2024. She was born on December 31, 1951, to the late Robert and Joan (Sabourin) Teachout in Syracuse and graduated from North Syracuse High School.

She had a love for children and animals and dedicated many years to providing childcare in her home. She enjoyed gardening, coffee breaks with her parents, and spending time with her family, especially summers on the lake at camp or at a racetrack cheering for her son. 

In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her husband, David S. Smith. 

She is survived by her children: Pamela Lotito of Baldwinsville, Vanessa (Joshua) Kingsley of North Syracuse, and Spencer Smith of Mattydale; her grandchildren: Tanner, Avery, Carson, and Brady Lotito; her brother and sister-in-law: David & Mary Kay Teachout; a sister: Beverly Neave; her brother-in-law, Robert Messinger; and several nieces and nephews. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Linda’s name to any local animal shelter. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, at 2:00 pm, in Pine Plains Cemetery, Kirkville.
