Michael R. Long, 86, of Saslon Park Drive, Liverpool passed away at home on Tuesday. A native of Proctor, VT Mr. Long grew up in Syracuse and has resided in Liverpool for the past 50 years. He was an Army Airforce veteran of WWII and served in the European Theater. Mike retired in 1986 after 17 years as a Machinist at the Carrier Corp.. Before that, he worked as a homebuilder for JD Construction for more than 15 years. He was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Liverpool, where he served as an Usher for many years. He also was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge in Solvay.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Jennie, his daughter Margaret Long Windhausen of Ft. Myers, FL, two brothers Orlando Long of Forrestport, Vito Long of Liverpool, two sisters Olga Mangicaro, and Sue Macheda both of Jacksonville, FL, along with his granddog ?Rosie? and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 8:45 am Saturday at the Krueger funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church at 9:30 am. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Friday at the funeral home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
