John Loomis SR.

John S. Loomis Sr., 79, of Campbell Rd. Mattydale died Monday at his home. A native of Ellisburg, NY he resided in West Haven, CT for 40 years before moving to Mattydale five years ago.
He was a WW II veteran of the Army and retired from the FMR Corp as a Wheel Grinder. He also worked at the Armstrong Rubber Co, both in West Haven CT. John was a member of the New Haven on the Green Church and also attended St. Johns by the Sea Church in Conn.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years the former Mildred J. Rist, two sons Duane Loomis of Mattydale, John S Sharon Loomis Jr. of West Haven, a daughter Joanne Al D?Vino of Wallingford, CT, a sister Doraine Hall of Mattydale and 4 grandchildren John S. Loomis III, Christopher M. Loomis, Duane A. Loomis II and Maria L. Loomis.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday at the Krueger Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday at the funeral home 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale. Burial will be in Collamer Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY 990 7th North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
