Bertha H. Lukasiewicz, 98, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully with Dave and Keith by her side on New Year’s Eve at home. A native of Manchester, New Hampshire, Bertha grew up on the West end of Syracuse where she graduated from Blodgett Vocational High School. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Dudek) Barch.
Bertha retired in 1983 after 20 years as a bookkeeper for Clemett Company in Mattydale. She was a member of the Salina Civic Seniors and a long time communicant of St. Margaret's Church.
Bertha was predeceased by her dedicated and loving husband, John, in 2011 and by her siblings: Stella, Walter, Edward, and Chester "Mac" Barch.
Bertha is survived by two sons: Ronald J. (Julie Southard) Lukas of Phoenix, AZ, and David J. (Barbara Bowden) Lukasiewicz of Charlotte, NC; her three grandsons: Keith and Kevin Lukasiewicz and Eric Lukas; a great granddaughter, Lily Lukasiewicz and a great grandson, Benjamin John; and by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bertha's memory may be made to St. Margaret's Church, 203 Roxboro Rd., Mattydale, NY 13211 or to Hospice of CNY, 990 7th North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 - 10:00 am at St. Margaret's Church with a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial following. Burial will be in Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
