Michael C. “Lutie” Luteran III, 68, of Mattydale, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at his home. Lutie grew up in the Westvale area where he graduated from West Hill High School with the Class of 1971. He was a stellar all county athlete in both baseball and basketball. He attended Marietta College as a Math/Economics major.
Lutie worked for 25 years as the bartender at Home Base in Mattydale before retiring in 2020. He was featured on YouTube for his Bloody Mary knowledge and mixology. Lutie loved his time as a bartender and the friends he made. He lived a simple life and was content being known as the “man who talked to cats” around the neighborhood. Lutie loved horses and horse racing; he looked forward to his annual trip to Saratoga Raceway with friends. He was also a devoted Atlanta Braves fan and was glad he lived long enough to watch his beloved Braves win the World Series. Lutie was a former communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Westvale.
He was predeceased by his parents, Virginia and Michael Luteran Jr.
Michael is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Liz Luteran of Cazenovia; and by his beloved feral rescue cat whom he tamed, Frideck.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Home Base at a time TBA. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt.
