Michael "Mick" W. Lynch, 40, of Fortuna Parkway in Clay, died Wednesday at home after a brief battle with colon cancer. Mick was a native of Syracuse; he grew up in Central Square before moving to Mattydale in 1984. He had been a resident of Clay for the past 12 years.
Mick was a 1985 graduate of CNS High School. He served in the US Navy from 1986-1989 and then in the Naval Reserves for several years. Mick was a welder and then a shop foreman for 7 years at C.O. Falter Construction Co. in Syracuse. Prior to that, he worked for 8 years at the former Lamson Corporation. He loved collecting M & M's memorabilia and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Surviving are his wife of 17 years, the former Carol M. Hawk; his five children: Chelsea, Brandon, Kayleigh, Chaydon, and Jade all living at home; mother: Rita and Roger "Dutch" Ducharme of Sylvan Beach; father: Michael J. and Paula Lynch of East Syracuse; his two brothers: Brian Lynch of VT and Doug Lynch of VA; one sister: Maureen Metcalf of Pennellville; and his paternal grandfather, Warren Lynch of Rochester.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at Krueger Funeral Home Inc., 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, NY. Services are Saturday, 10am at the funeral home followed by burial in Pine Plains Cemetery.
