Joseph Malara

June 13, 1933 — December 12, 2005

Joseph N. Malara, 72, of Mattydale died Monday at the VA Hospital. A native of Archibold, PA., he resided in Mattydale for the past 38 years. Mr. Malara was an Air Force veteran during the Korean War. He retired in 1998 after 40 years as a meat cutter for the Great American Food Market and G & L Davis Meat Co. He was a member of the UFCW local # 1 and the American Legion Post 1832 Mattydale. He attended the North Syracuse Baptist Church. He was a fan of the Buffalo Bills and of SU and was also an avid golfer.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years the former Virginia Kitchen, 3 daughters Jeanne Don Casciere of Bridgeport , Joanne Mike Bucci of Solvay, Melissa Malara of Mattydale , a son Joseph Tina Malara of Cicero, 3 brothers Dominic Malara of Jamesville, Albert Malara of Lyncourt, Bruno Malara of Melborne Fl. and 3 grandchildren David, Dustin, and Devin.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Thursday at the Krueger Funeral Home 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Funeral services will be 2 pm Friday in at the funeral home. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, Dewitt.
