Mattydale

Margaret Felter, 95, of Mattydale, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Born in the Scranton/Wilkes Barre area of PA, Margaret resided on the West end of Syracuse since 1963. She was very family oriented, enjoyed cooking, and traveling with her family and following the Syracuse University sports teams. Margaret was a longtime communicant of St. Margaret’s Church.

She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Gerard “Red” Felter in 2010 and by her three brothers, Peter, Joseph, and John Gima.

Surviving are her two children, Robert (Linda) Felter of Eagan, MN and Sharon (Denny) Sweeney of East Syracuse; and two grandsons, Alex “AJ” and Ryan Felter.

Contributions in Margaret’s memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St., Box 7, E. Syracuse, NY 13057 or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept #142 Memphis, TN 38101.

Friends may call on Wednesday, November 6th from 10:00 – 11:00 am at St. Margaret's Church, 200 Roxboro Rd., Mattydale. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am followed by burial in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
