Marilyn J. Segrell

Marilyn J. Segrell, loving Mother and Grandmother, formerly of Washingtonville, NY, and San Francisco, CA, passed away Monday, July 15, 2024, at Iroquois Nursing Home in Jamesville. She was 92 years old. The daughter of the late Ivan and Violet (Rooke) Leavitt, Marilyn was born on February 29, 1932, in St Louis, Missouri.

Marilyn worked many years for Orange County Department of Social Services in Goshen, NY, retiring in 1995.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Judy (Yves) DeGarie of Mattydale; sons: Chris (Cathy) of Missouri Valley, IA, Alex (Betty) of New Windsor, NY, Dan (Margaret) of Queensbury, NY, and Scott (Braden) of Stamford, CT; grandchildren: Andrew (Candace), Abby (Alex), Jacob (Hope), Emily (Adam), Courtney, Cassandra, Sharmarie (Aaron); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marilyn is also survived by her special friend, Dennis Kiernan of San Francisco, CA.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her sisters, Linda Simmons and Kathy Jako, and a great granddaughter, Clara Trilby Berger-Segrell.

At Marilyn’s request, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
