Joshua  S. Mathes

Joshua S. Mathes, 23, Garden City Dr. Mattydale, died unexpectedly Friday at his home. Josh was a lifelong resident of Mattydale. He attended Cicero North Syracuse High School with the class of 2012.
He was employed for several years as a cook at area restaurants including Borio’s in Cicero. For the past five years he worked for various concrete and masonry companies in the Syracuse area.
He was a member of the Valley Presbyterian congregation. Josh also played hockey for many years with the Valley Youth Hockey organization and loved to ice skate and rollerblading whenever he had the chance. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing all over central NY.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Joanne Pike in 2017.
Josh was survived by his parents Lindsay (Kenny Harris) Mathes with whom he resided, Chistopher (Denise Aloi) Mathes of North Syracuse; a brother Christopher R. Mathes of Liverpool; his paternal grandparents Steven and Lona Mathes of Syracuse; maternal grandfather Richard Pike of Cicero; several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with a funeral service following.
