Helen Maurer

Helen Rudy Maurer, 84, of Brown Ave., Mattydale, died on November 20th 2005. Helen was one of fifteen children of the late Joseph and Anna Rudy. A native of Syracuse, she resided in Mattydale for 54 years and was a 1939 graduate from Sacred Heart High School.
Helen retired in 1987 from General Electric and Anoran in Syracuse after 24 years of employment as a technician. She was a an active member of the St. Margaret?s Church community where she was past president of the Altar and Rosary Society and served as a Eucharistic Minister and a Lector as part of their church ministry in which capacity she took communion to the sick at area nursing facilities and hospitals. Additionally, she volunteered on the telephone hotline at Contact. She also served as past Vice Chairperson for the Town of Salina Democratic Committee and was Committee woman for the Third Ward. She had a great love of her family and enjoyed travel and golf.
Helen was predeceased by her son Theodore, and her husband Matthew in 1978. She is survived by her children Kathleen Denis Ausflug of Ohio and their children Kelly, Brandy, Denis II and T.J; Michael Robin Maurer of Manlius and their children Matthew and Lindsay; Patricia Maurer William Witt of Rochester and daughter-in-law Maurine Maurer of Baldwinsville and her children Michelle, Michael, Kerry, Mark, and Kelly. She has 11 great grandchildren and is also survived by two sisters Paula Reilly of Westvale and Lillian Walter Kogut of Minoa and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 3 to 7pm on Tuesday at the Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Services will be 9:30 am Wednesday at the funeral home and at 10:00 am at St. Margaret?s Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Unity Acres, PO Box 153 Orwell, New York 13426.
