Maxime J.A. Chabot

Syracuse

Maxime J. Chabot, 77, of Syracuse, died Friday, October 6, 2023. A native of Kitigan Zibi, Quebec, Max was educated in Maniwaki, Quebec, before moving to the United States in 1966.

He worked for 40 years as a high-rise window washer at properties like the Chrysler Building, the Twin Towers, and the Empire State Building before retiring in 2006. He was an amateur boxer in his youth. Max loved to cook and listen to country music including Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings. He also listened to Bluegrass music, watched NASCAR racing and boxing. Maxime was a family-oriented man who loved his children and enjoyed taking care of them.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Peter and Joseph; his sisters, Vivian and Helen; and by a twin brother, Edmund.

Surviving are his four children: James Marchand of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Edmund, Maxine and Audie Chabot, all of Syracuse; a sister, Stella Chabot of Maniwaki, Quebec; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with a Funeral Service following at 6:00 pm. Burial will be at a later date in Kitigan Zibi, Quebec.
